Customer Groups

Customer groups allow you to segment your customer base for targeted promotions, pricing, and communication.

Managing Groups

Navigate to Sales → Customer Groups.

Creating a Group

  1. Click New Group
  2. Enter a name (e.g., "VIP", "Wholesale", "Employees")
  3. Optionally add a description
  4. Save

Assigning Customers

  1. Open a customer's detail page
  2. In the Groups section, add or remove group memberships
  3. Save

Using Groups in Promotions

Customer groups can be used as conditions in automatic promotions:

  • Promotion condition type: CustomerGroup
  • Value: the customer group ID
  • Effect: promotion only applies to members of that group

Example: "15% off for VIP customers on all orders over $100"

Groups are flexible labels — create as many as needed for your segmentation strategy. Common groups include VIP, Wholesale, Employee, and First-Time Buyer.
