Sales Categories
Sales Categories are a storefront-facing categorization layer separate from Master Categories. While Master Categories represent the internal product taxonomy, Sales Categories are flexible groupings used for merchandising and storefront navigation — e.g., "Summer Sale", "Back to School", "New Arrivals".
Key Differences from Master Categories

Managing Sales Categories
Navigate to Catalog → Sales Categories.
Creating a Sales Category
- Click New
- Enter Name and Description
- Toggle Active status
- Optionally select a Parent Category for hierarchical structure
- Select the Store scope
- Save
Adding Products
- Open a Sales Category
- Click Add Products
- Use the Master Category filter to narrow down products
- Use the PickList to move products into the category
- Save the batch assignment
You can quickly populate a new Sales Category by copying products from an existing one using the Copy from existing Sales Category option in the Add Products dialog.
Duplicating a Category
Right-click or use the action menu on any Sales Category and select Duplicate to clone it along with its configuration.
Localization
Sales Category names and descriptions can be translated per language:
- Open a category for editing
- Switch the language selector to the target language
- Enter the translated name and description
- Save
Slugs
Sales Categories have SEO-friendly slugs used in storefront URLs. Slugs are:
- Unique across all entities
- Language-specific
- Managed via the slug editor in the edit page
